Ho HO HO

Well, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas everyone! I'm finally back on here. It's just a whirlwind of activities and so much to do and so little time.
First, we went to Atlanta for the turkey day holiday. We left on Wed. morning and drove on through to Sandra's. We had a great time, her in laws was there and we all had tons of good food and enjoyed the stay a lot. We left on Saturday, stopped in Macon and did a little shopping. Not much, just a few things we wanted at our favorite stores. Me, Michael's, and Royce, Harbor Freight. We had salads for lunch and then drove on home. You know, we get excited about going away and getting out of Oak Park and then we can't wait to get home! As the saying goes, "There's no place like home."
This week is loaded down with decorating. I culled down a lot of stuff. I just don't have it in me to do what I've always done. Like trees in every room...Whatever was I thinking! Anyway, everything is done and I'm just pooped. I have some critiquing to do and will do that in the morning. It all looks great and who have guessed that less is more?
Tomorrow I'm going to Hobby Lobby and treat me to lunch. I need to get craft items to make the gifts for the kids I always make. Friday, my Sally is coming over and we're going to work all day in the shack. Then Saturday I will do the crafts for the kids.
We're going to the Lyons parade Sat. night. I'm excited about that as my hairdresser is head of the youth group in her church is having a float. I can't wait to see it.
We will do many other things like that during the holidays, it adds a lot the holiday season, at least for me. I enjoy getting out and seeing things like that.
Well, that's all the news for now. Be blessed everyone and have a wonderful holiday season. Always remember the reason for the season!!!

Happy Friday and Happy Fall

It's been beautiful weather here, in the low 70's during the day and dropping to the 40's at night... Nice snuggling weather!!
We went to Savannah yesterday to do the grand kids Christmas shopping... Whew!! It's all done! I am so glad to have it finished. I still have to buy some crafty items and buy little stuff, but it's no big deal. I'm just glad to have the major part done.
I go to paper crafting tomorrow in Statesboro and am looking forward to it. I so enjoy being with different people and just enjoying time together in the crafts we love. We always have a great time and we learn from each other. WE will be working on the Mistletoe Workshop To Go. I, personally am doing some of my own thing as I'm trying to get my Christmas cards done. There's so much to do.
Well, this is short, have a great weekend everyone!
Love, Prayers and Blessings to everyone.

Happy November

Finally I got on here. I've been trying for 2 days! Sorry I've gotten so far behind.
There's so much to talk about. First as you know Royce was in the hospital. He had a temporary blockage in the bowel and it caused him great pain. He was also diagnosed with Diabetes. His sugar is down to a normal level and we are adjusting very well. We are really trying to change eating habits and it's working. We've made quite a few switches in our diet, like using splenda instead of sugar. Eating high proteins and little carbs and etc. So it is all working.. Thank you for your prayers and concerns.
We had a Croptober Fest in the shack a few Saturday's ago. Sally, Jayne, Candace and I worked until seven at night. We had a great time and we all got a lot accomplished. No one wanted to quit, but we had too. Again, we had a great time. I'm so fortunate to have the shack. Everyone that comes here loves working in there. It's so pleasant and cheery and no one bothers us. Candace and I are going to work out there this coming Saturday.
We're getting geared up for the holidays. We have our Thanksgiving plans. And plans are unfolding for Christmas. Thanksgiving we are going to have the kids over for dinner on the 19Th. Then we will go to Atlanta on Turkey Day eve and spend a few days with Sandy and family. We're really looking forward to that.
Then in December, I will have the cookie exchange, a brother and sister to do and then closer to Christmas I will have a ladies luncheon for 6 of us. I'm planning something really fru fru and I hope they all enjoy it...I've been thinking and planning for over a month now. Then on the 24Th in the afternoon we will have the kids here for the gift exchange and dinner and finger foods. We always enjoy this...
And of course there is the week of decorating right after Turkey Day. It takes me longer and longer as we get older. We bought a nice yard ornament today and am looking forward to having that new. We really go all out and enjoy every minute of it.
I hope this catches you all up and am wishing you all a great holiday season.
Be blessed everyone, we love you!

Happy Fall!

Hello everyone. Finally I'm gettting back on here. It's been a busy two weeks. With Royce in the hospital for almost 3 days and trying to calm down from that, it's been a little hectic to say the least.
Am posting two Christmas cards I made today. I made 10 of each style, these are for an order I have from Royce's cousin, Jennifer. I made 20 for her and 20 for her hubby Mitch. I'm posting the one's I made for Mitch. The stamp set I used is the same for both, just two different technique's and styles..Leave me a comment if you will.
A little more on Royce....Of course, they diagnosed him with diabetes. We are changing everything we eat and how I cook in order to bring down the sugar levels. It keeps going up and down and will take probably a good month to get it regulated. I just hope we can get it straightened out. Please pray for us as we are really trying hard.
We have a busy couple of month's coming up. This month is jam packed with activities as is December. We're hoping to go to the mountains in Novemeber, but a lot depends on what the Dr's say as we go along here.
Well, that's about all the news for now...
Take care everyone and be blessed!

Happy Fall!

Wanted to post a few pictures of cards I worked on today... The one with the dove is for my card swap. The other is one I'm making for myself and Jennifer is she likes them...I took a picture of the inside, they may show up blurred a little, it's hard to take a picture of verses up close enough so that you can see. Sorry the verses don't show up well. The dove card is embossed in silver with a tiny pearl embellishment on the eye. On the snowflake on the snowman card is a tiny red embellishment on the center of the snowflake. Jennifer let me know about these.
Enjoy and will post more later on.

Happy Fall is here!

Well, I thought I'd better update everyone... Not an awful lot going on.
Royce has added a roof to the deck. We are waiting for the shade cover to come in to put on top of the rafter's he added. He put them every 2 feet apart. Cut out the ends so they are decorative. Looks so much better. Not to mention that we will be able to sit out there more often. He is lighting it as well as installing two indoor/outdoor fans. That will help with the bugs. I'm just thrilled to have it done.
I went to a workshop today, we got a lot of scrap booking done, what we did was set up pages out of a kit we all bought from Close To My Heart. It is called Magnifique. Beautiful paper!
I'm also getting all my card ideas together for the Christmas Card making season. I have quite few to make this year, but the numbers doesn't scare me. I made over two hundred last year and I don't have quite as many to make this year. I'm just happy to be doing it and to have a great place to work in.
Is everyone happy that we celebrated the first day of fall this past week? Just wish the temperatures would come down so that we could enjoy the outdoors more. It was in the 90's all week. Hopefully this week will be cooler.
This next Saturday, we will be going to hear Sherry Damron preach at the Technical College in Vidalia. Sherry is Royce's daughter in law. She's very anointed and very gifted. We are all proud of her. We wish her well and send her many blessings and God's love.
Take care my dear friends and have a great week.
Again! Happy Fall!!!!

Happy Labor Day Weekend

Happy Labor Day weekend, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves. We are, we had a nice relaxing day today.
Yesterday, we had a big fish fry. All the boys were in from working and we invited all the brothers and sisters and some friends. Royce spent over a week catching fish at his son's pond on his property. He caught tons and many big ones as well. We had brim, catfish, and bass. Anyway, we had a head count of about 32 people. The finished garage we have was packed to the brim. We had tons of fish, fries, and hush puppies. Everyone brought a dish and we had a bunch of food. We also celebrated Sherry Damron's (daughter in law) birthday. We gave her a card shower and had a nice big cake. She was surprised and very pleased.
Two weeks ago we had another cook out with burgers and dogs and all the trimmings. This was Royces 65Th birthday celebration. He wasn't surprised as he knew we were having it. But he received gift cards from the kids for Lowe's for his next project. Also a really nice book to read. We had a great time. He enjoyed having all the kids home under one roof at one time, which is very rare.
I'm not sure what his next big project will be. He's looking into smaller wood projects for Christmas gifts. We are also looking at making some funny scary things for the yard for Halloween. I will post pictures if we actually build and display anything.
I don't know about all of you but I'm looking so forward to fall. I'm so tired of the very hot weather. I'm ready for a change and very anxious to decorate. Making plans already for October thru December. You know me, I'm always ready to celebrate the holidays in a big way.
Some of the gals that I scrap book with and I are planning a Kroptober fest in October. We've set the date and I'm making plans for favors and etc. We will simply scrap all day and have a great time. That usually sets off the Christmas card making.
I have many plans already for fall and Halloween cards along with the Christmas cards. I so enjoy making them and getting them all done...
That's all the news for now, be blessed everyone and enjoy the upcoming season changes.
God Bless!

Hello from Georgia!!!!

Sending greetings and hoping this finds you all well and happy and safe..We are fine here. It's still pretty hot, but at least has gone down to the lower nineties. We are finally getting some much needed rain.. It has been very dry.
Some news, Royce has been tilling the garden and in the next week we will plant what is called winter crops. We are just going to plant some peas, different types. They're are so many different types of peas here. For instance, butter peas, zipper peas, pink eyed peas, chrowder peas and etc. You get the picture...anyway we will be planting when the rain goes away for a bit.
Praise reports: Jeannette Lamb beat all odds and is home recovering. We definitely give God the glory on this report. And Eve White in CT. has gone through the worst of her chemo and had a lumpectomy and the lymph nodes are cancer free. She will take some more chemo and radiation but nothing like she's been going through..Another Give God the Glory!!!
We will be celebrating Royce's 65th birthday this weekend, Sat. We will have a cookout and all the kids are home and we are rejoicing in that. We'll have about 24 people altogether this Sat. I'm very excited.
Other than that, we are anxiously awaiting the fall. Everyone down here is very excited about the end of summer and looking forward to a change of season.
I'm already planning my Holiday cards, Christmas, Fall and some Halloween cards as well. Making plans for holidays as well. Haven't set any dates yet, but we will.
Well, take care dear friends and hope to hear from you soon!!
Love, prayers and blessings

It's hump Day!!!!

Just checking in with everyone.. How are all of you doing? We're fine here, just plugging through the heat..We have a heat warning for the next 36 hours... People are advised to stay inside and drink plenty of fluids...It's just too hot for words. I never thought I would wish for 85 deegree weather... That seems so pleasant right now. We did get a little rain this late afternoon but it made it so humid you couldn't breathe.
We went grocerying today and is it me or everyone, do the prices seem much higher to everyone? I noticed the butter I usually buy went up over 50 cents a pound. I noticed a lot of stuff was higher than it was last week. Let me know what you think.
I sent out prayer request this week for a Jeannette Lamb and she is responding to treatment. I just received an update from my gal Patty and she is doing better. I also heard of my friends daughter's mother in law who has cancer of the kidney's....We need prayer for her as well. They can't operate as she has a clot. Her name is Cindy... Please lift her up.. No one is exempt from the diseases and problems of this country. Folks, we have to prepare ourselves and be ready for the enemy. Pray up folks, time is drawing nigh...
Take care my pretties and I will keep this blog up to date as time permits.
Love, and blessings to all,
C

Just a quick update....1. It's so hot down here even Royce can't stand it outside. Today's heat index was 108. Triple digits are just too much!!! I can't believe that I wished it were only 85. I never thought I would say that.
2. Been working in the shack this week... I worked today with Candace and she has shown me how to make a mini album out of lunch sacks. They are just tooooo cute now!! I copied hers, but did my own style. I just love them.. I have to finish the second one and then will post a few pictures.
3. Congrats goes to daughter Sandy as she worked very hard on a speech for school and she did complete it. And I know she did well when delivering the speech... I haven't talked to her yet but I know she had to ace that one!! C0ngrats Sandy!!!
4. Sounds like September is going to be a busy month. I may have company coming; my Mom and then my friend Patty from Ohio,... I hope they both can make it, different weeks of course.
I really miss my friends.
5. My trip in August to meet with Betty in N.C. has been cancelled ... we won't be able to make it.. pretty bummed about this one, but will survive!
Well, have a good rest of the week and take care, be blessed!

Happy Sunday!!!

Thank you all for reading and keeping up with my blog. I appreciate it. I miss all of you that are far away and wish that we could see each other more often. It's hard being so far away. You know when Bob died I knew it was the right move and time has proven that to be right. But it's still hard to be away from my dear friends.
The Fourth of July weekend was great. We had all the kids (that was in town) over for a picnic. We also had Ina and Garland over. We had a ton of food. I did ribs in the roaster and Clint cooked chicken on the grill. We had potato salad, peas, baked beans and sliced fresh tomatoes. I had made two no bake cheese cakes and they were delicious and lasted all about 10 minutes. They went over great. We had iced down a huge watermelon for the kids, but we were all so full we couldn't eat it...
Candace brought over some sparklers and pop its for the kids and they had a ball with them. A good time was had by all.
Tony and Todd are still in West Palm Beach working. I hope they get home soon. I think their work is winding down and hopefully will be coming home. We all miss them a lot.
I'm going to finish the cards for Jennifer this week. I have a ton of other stuff to do as well. I hope to get two days in the shack.
Sandy and kids are coming down this coming weekend. Candace is taking Chelsea's pictures for her senior year picts...I'm looking forward to her visit. We don't have any other plans other than entertaining them. Since I have the golf cart, I think it will go over big...We can ride it a lot.
The garden is about gone. We have the tomato plants still producing, but they are slowing down. Royce and I put up another bucket this past week, we just blanched, cut, and grind ed them in the blender then froze them. That's our version of tomato sauce.
Take care all of you and be blessed!!!

Happy Sunday!

Well, hello there!!!
It's been a busy week here. We picked the last of the green beans and I put them up, also did a batch plus a few more of bread and butter pickles...We did the tomatoes on Wednesday. We put up 28 quarts of tomatoes. So, like I said it was a very busy week. Thursday was going into town day and get groceries and run errands.
Friday I went to Savannah for a ladies day out. There was five of us total. We had a ball! It was amazing that five women could agree on where to go and where to eat, but we did...we ate at Macaroni Grill and the food was beyond belief good!! We all had something different.. we went to two other stores then and then had Starbucks Coffee on the way home. Again it was a fun filled day. We had a lot of goodies and all made out like little bandits. It was 102 most of the day but we really didn't notice the heat as much as we were all talking and carrying on about our found bargains...
We hit a rain storm on the way home and temperature dropped down to 74 in a matter of minutes. It really cooled things off. We were tired but happy.
In Church this morning they asked for prayers for a young man named Josh Sykes. He had a motorcycle accident. Last week he wasn't expected to live or even if he did would probably never walk again. Well, prayers were lifted up and he has under gone surgery and plans on walking again!!! His chances of walking again are much better. We just need to keep him up in prayers and continue for God's good works on his healing. Please keep him in your prayers.
I'm cooking supper, so many blessings and prayers for all of you who read my blog.. Take care and be blessed.

Hello from hot Georgia

Hello everyone!
Guess I'd better get back on here and tell you what's been going on down here.
For one thing, it's been terribly hot. The heat index the first of this week was 108 for about 3 days. You couldn't stand to be outside as the heat just surrounded you... We've had rain about every late afternoon.
The garden is doing well. We've picked and put up green beans twice now.. the tomatoes are coming on a little at a time... Royce went and picked 3 five gallon bucket fulls at the tomato farm. They're not quite ready to can yet, but should be ready about Tuesday. I'm putting them up whether they are ready or not.. I need to get them done as there is other veggies that need our attention. Bennie and I put up corn on Thursday. I did a total of 20 pints for me and she in two days put up a total of 50 pints. I don't need to put up that many as Royce doesn't eat corn. We creamed it and put it in freezer bags. I also did about 5 half pints of sweet banana peppers. They sure are pretty.
We had the Dismuke family reunion last weekend. From Thursday on we had tons of company every day. His cousin Jennifer and her hubby stayed the night on Saturday night. We had a great time with them. Jennifer is a nut anyway and just a hoot to be around. We had a great time, they was a ton of food.
On Friday, Candace, Sally, Jayne and I are going to Savannah to spend a day at the craft stores. We're hoping Helen will go as well. We just want to have a good day in Savannah and have a nice lunch and just enjoy each other's company.
The Fourth of July is right around the corner. Adam will be 8 years old. It's totally amazing. I can't believe he's going to be eight years old.. He's maturing a lot and really growing up. Chelsea now has her own car and is driving. That's hard to believe!!!
Well, that's all the news for now. Sorry I haven't been on here lately. It's been pretty busy and I didn't have my own computer. It was down and wouldn't connect to the Internet. I just got it back this week..
Be blessed everyone and may God be with you.
Love and prayers,
Cathy

Checking in With everyone!!!

How is everyone doing? How was your holiday weekend?
We had a great time in Atlanta. We went to visit Sandy and her family. She had her hubbies children and hers and it was a lot of fun.. Not quite as noisy as usual as the teenagers now congregate to themselves.
Imagine my shock when we pulled in and a very nice Honda Civic was sitting in the driveway!!! It belongs to Chelsea. I can't believe she is driving and has her own car now.. I am so proud of her. She's become so very responsible. She's just a doll baby!!! Her and her mom will be looking a colleges this summer. I'm anxious to see what one she will choose.
It's very hot down here. Today was miserable. I don't know how Royce stands it outside as he stays out most of the day. I stayed in and did my cleaning. I wanted to get it all done as I want to play tomorrow in the shack. Candace and I are going to play. And Saturday we are going to a card class, the one I go to every month.
I brought back a flat of strawberries from Atlanta. Made 12 half pints of jam. I had some tonight, it's very good. The tomatoes in the garden are coming on strong and fast. It won't be long before I will be in the kitchen putting up tomatoes. We're going to do them in quarts as we always ended up using two pints at a time... No sense in wasting a lid. Royce is going to pick green beans in the morning, so I will probably be blanching them tomorrow. That doesn't take long at all.
I can't think of any other news at the moment. I know some of you check this blog spot on a regular basis..I'm trying to keep it updated.
Be blessed everyone! Happy summer!
Love and prayers for all of you!
Cathy

Hello everyone!

Well, we're just plugging along down here. We've had some bad weather and much needed rain. But all is well now. We may get more rain today sometimes.
We've picked our first zucchini and cucumbers. I'm having them for supper tonight.. I'm going to fry the zucchini.. Looking forward to it...We'll have green beans in a week or so.
What are all your plans for Memorial Day? We're going to Atlanta to stay with Sandra and kids. Chelsea and Adam are in the Dacula parade on Memorial Day and we will watching that. We're excite to see that. Adam's dad always heads up the parade and he puts a lot of work into it and it's always very nice.
We watched Lacey and Haley last week, Candace's girls. She had the 3 days of work left and they were already out. We took them swimming one day and fishing the next. We went to oldest son's place where he has a nice huge pond on the property. It's loaded with fish and they caught about 22 pan fish in less than 2 hours. They had a great time as did we. I just watched, Royce fished with the girls..We had a fish fry on Friday night with Danny and Bennie, they were very good fish.
My friend Patty in Centerburg, OH has an 8 month old grandchild in the hospital. He had to have surgery on his little ear as he had an ear infection that had gotten progressively worse. they had to operate and put tubes in for the infection in order for it to drain. Please pray for little Cody.
Everyone have a great holiday and be safe!
Love, blessings and hugs to everyone.

Happy Sunday!

Do you believe it is the middle of May already. The year is almost half over!!
How is everyone doing? We are fine and just plugging along and trying to get used to the hot weather that is going on. It is starting to get pretty toasty in S.E. Georgia. We've had some 90 degree days already.
We took a long bike ride yesterday. Of course like dummies we didn't start out until one o'clock and the sun was bearing down! My arms and knees are pretty pink... Royce who is dark anyway is nice and brown. It doesn't get to him like it does me. We rode about 110 miles round trip. We just explore small towns and see what's in there...We stopped at his sister Ellen's and visited with them for awhile...We enjoy riding and seeing different areas and places, and people....We always get a lot of attention with the trike. People are always giving us a thumbs up or when we are stopped questions are generally asked about the trike. He is always complimented on how pretty the trike is...
Today I will be harvesting the kale we planted. I have about 8 plants which will bring a nice harvest. They are really good sized. I will clean them good and then blanch and freeze them. I have already picked the red leaf lettuce I planted, it's really good. It keeps really well and of course I share.
Prayers are needed for my dear and oldest friends, Kathy and Jerry Taylor. They lost their son this past week. He was 44 years old. They are taking it pretty hard which is certainly understandable. I believe he had a heart attack. He had been visiting his cousin in Florida and was in the hotel room and passed on. Please pray for these parents that God will give them understanding, peace and comfort them. For all of you who reads this, please understand that there is no answer to the question why. When you are in the fire, God is there with you to comfort you and carry you through. Always!!!
Well, take care of yourselves dear friends and family and be blessed.
Love and prayers for all of you.

TGIF Happy Friday!

Hey everyone!!
Check out the pictures! I'm posting the pict. of the garden and the new golf cart. Well, it's not brand new, but it looks it. It's very clean! I've driven it twice and I just love it. It's so much fun and I will get many hours of enjoyment out of it.
The garden is really growing. Notice the nice fence Royce put around it.
Enjoy your day and have a great weekend!

Happy Mid week!!!

How is everyone doing? I wanted to check in with all of you and let you know what's going on here.
We've had a lot of rain for one. Therefore, the garden is coming on and growing like gang busters. It's unbelievable how much it has all grown. The tomatoes all have blossoms on the, the yellow squash is blossoming as well.
Candace and I changed the shack around today, we totally rearranged it. Moved the tables around and just did an over haul. It looks like a lot more space and we have more floor room as well. We both really like it and are adjusting to it slowly but surely.
I made a few cards today and wanted to share them with you. The group of four is made from the Hello Birdie kit that is in the Close To My Heart catalog. Enjoy the pictures and enjoy the rest of the evening.
On another note, Candace bought me a book shelf to go in the shack and Royce is building us each two shelves to put on the wall for our cricuit cartridges. We are very pleased.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!
Take care, everyone and be blessed.

Good Evening Everyone!! Happy Spring!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Spring and hoping this finds all of you well and healthy.
We are fine here, just working and getting the yard and garden totally finished. Royce finished his sprinkling/watering system and it works beautifully. And what a difference!!! The flowers and the garden are growing in leaps and bounds. The flowers look better than they have ever looked before. We were walking around the yard and the purple iris's are just enormous and beautiful....Three of them made a beautiful bouquet. Of course they don't last long, but we enjoyed them while we had them. I have many to pick if I choose.
Some of the garden plants like tomatoes and the green beans are already blossoming out. We planted 18 tomato plants and I will have to camp out next to the stove to keep up with the canning! We'll certainly have plenty to share. I also planted red leaf lettuce and it will be ready to pick before long... It doesn't take long for that to grow.
Royce also built a small fence around the garden to keep the fuzzy critters out of it. As we've already seen bunnies in the yard. I love the little darlings but they can't have my cabbage and other leafy veggies.
We both had a few sick days, I had gotten really dehydrated and had to go to the doctor. I hated going, but had no choice as I felt so bad. We both have head colds, but mine is doing much better. We're working through them. All is getting better as we look forward to feeling better as time goes on.
That's about all my news for now, I wish you all good health and many blessings. I will have Royce take a picture of the garden so you can see it in it's beginning stages.
Be blessed everyone!!!
Cathy

Happy Spring!

Checking in with everyone and seeing how all of you are doing. How was your Easter holiday? Ours was great. We had some of the kids over for Easter Sunday dinner. The others were working. We had ham, potato salad, peas, deviled eggs and macaroni and cheese. I made an apple cake and some brownies.
The garden is all planted,we planted it on Good Friday. It looks very nice and very healthy. My tomatoes that I started didn't make it so we had to buy some. 18 to be exact. What I think I'm going to do with 18 tomato plants is beyond me. I guess I'm going to camp out in the yard and can every one that gets ripe. I think we went a little over board!!!!
Sandy, Chelsea, and Adam are coming to visit at the end of the week for 3 days. We're very excited and happy they are coming. We're going to go to Savannah on Friday and show them the sights. There is so much to see there and a ton of history. We will be having Chelsea's 17th birthday party on Saturday. We've ordered the cake and have plans for burgers and dogs an chili...Some of the other family members will be coming, Garland and Ina, Bennie and Dannie and Candace and her family. we'll have a great time and Chelsea will be able to get to know her step family.
We've also got the flower gardening done. Royce put in a sprinkling system around the flower beds and the shrubs. It will make it a lot easier for us and the watering chores. We're very happy with it so far. I've planted about a little over a flat of flowers, mostly petunias and salvia. I've done these in red and white and purple. It all looks very nice, neat and tidy.
Well, that's all the news for now.. Take care everyone and may God richly bless all of you!

Happy Sunday

Hello Everyone!!!!

Sorry, here again, it's been too long since I've updated this blog. Sooo much has been going on...Let me update you all and thank you for checking in.
First, we're in good shape health wise. I had a bout of vertigo this past week and was almost 3 days in bed. It hits so hard and so fast and when I get it I can hardly walk. I have to have assistance or hold on to the walls. But I have the meds the Dr. gave me and am doing fine. Can't bend over too well, but am coming along nicely.
Royce is doing fine, he's been on a mission all week. He's always on a project or doing something. He's fine, he's healthy, Gibe the Lord Praise!!
We have the garden tilled and the green beans planted. We will be planting the cucumbers, the cabbage and broccoli here shortly. The tomatoes will go in last. We started them from seedlings and they are about ready to be planted. The oxhearts I told you about take a lot longer to grow and are a slower growing tomato. They will be worth it though. I'm excited about getting them in the garden and getting them going.
Royce has built a new trailer top for the trike as the one we had wasn't holding up real well. He built this one out of steel and it's going to look quite "sporty" in his words. It will be finished soon and painted. We are looking forward to bike riding in the spring.
Now for the big news: I've decided and have started a little business. Hopefully to support my love of card making and scrapbooking. I have signed up to be a Close To My Heart Consultant. I will host gatherings or workshops to teach and introduce scrapooking and card making. Close To My Heart sells scrapbooking and card making supplies, mainly acrylics clear stamps, paper and etc. I hope to get a good following of customers who will want to order quality stuff for their habits. I'm offering my own promotions for them and have already done an April/May promotion for buying customers. Just pray for me that my little business will grow and flourish where God wants it to go. I won't and don't plan to be in this like I was before when I sold Undercover Wear many many years ago. I just want to hold classes and workshops. Please pray for this venture and I thank you for all your prayers and good wishes.
I have a pretty busy week planned this week. I have to go to town tomorrow and run a few errands and Tuesday I'm taking Bennie to her eye appt. in Savannah. Then Wed. is pay day, shopping and getting my hair done and etc. Hopefully Thursday I can get into the shack and get some work and re-organizing done. Royce bought me a new storage unit and I so want to get some organizing done and new stuff put away. I want to decorate tomorrow afternoon for Easter, I have all the stuff I need to do that with.
What are all your plans for Easter? Are any of you traveling?
I'm sorry to my Ohio friends that I won't be going to Ohio. We just can't make it this year, it's such a long way to drive. And the gas is getting very expensive. Hopefully another time we will be able to visit.
Please feel free to leave comments on the blogspot, I welcome ideas, prayers and your good wishes.
Be blessed everyone and happy Spring!!!!

Happy weekend!

Hey everyone! How are you doing?
I promised I would try to enter more entries..I'm hoping this finds you all well and healthy and warm. We are doing fine.
Royce received his plans for the grandfather clock and he is getting excited and working himself up to the new project.
He's building a new top of the trailer for the trike trailer. It's going to be a lot nicer than what you saw posted previously. Check out older post.
Sally is coming over tomorrow to play in the shack with me. We generally get a lot more done when working together. I so enjoy her company.
We've had a very windy and cool two days. Plus more rain. Man, I'll be glad when the Spring finally arrives!!
Yesterday we transplanted the seedlings that we had started a few weeks ago. It's amazing to see how fast they grow. The green bean plants are over 8" high. The other ones are coming along nicely. The newer ones will take a while to mature before we can transplant them.
That's about all the news I have for now..
Be blessed everyone and take care.

Happy Saturday

Just checking in with everyone and posting a few updates on what we have been doing. Royce finished the "Spud Boxes" and I really like mine. He gave Candace hers for her birthday (today). She really likes it and said she will put it to good use. Mine is already almost full!
We had a craft day today and one on Thursday. We went to Statesboro today to paper craft with several other ladies. It is so interesting to see who does what and it always amazes me at the gifted and talented people. Each have their own unique style and they all do beautiful work. We had about ten gals today ranging in all ages. A good time was had by all.
Royce received his plans today for his Grandfather Clock he is going to build. He predicts it will take him quite a while. We'll both be in our prospective shops doing our thing.
I, personally have been working on our cruise album. I have about half the pictures done. I want to try to finish it this week, if at all possible. Royce this week, finished the Martin House he had started in the fall. It's very nice and we're hoping the bird will come to it.. He laid the foundation for the pole on which it will sit. I'm very excited about it going up.
We're supposed to have pretty decent weather this week, so he should be able to put it up. I'll have him take some pictures of it to post on the blog spot.
Candace and I are planning on attending many craft shows this year. We're getting them lined up now. The Vidalia Onion festival comes up in April and the Bloomin' Festival comes up in Metter the weekend before Easter. That is always a really nice one and we will definitely attend it.
Have a good day tomorrow and be blessed everyone. Thank you all for keeping up with my blog spot...
Love and prayers to everyone!!

Happy Wed.!!!

Thinking of everyone and hoping your warm and safe. I know the North is getting a ton of snow and very cold weather. I wish you all well.
I've been back in the shack making some cards. I had received an order of 20 all occasion cards from a friend. Wanted to get those done for her. Enjoy the pictures. I'm not sure the colors are coming out real well. The one with the roses on it is done on a pumpkin colored paper, it's called the brown rose. The other one with the scalloped edges is done in a sage color. Check them out.
We're doing fine, it's been cold. Slightly warm during the day but pretty chilly in the evening..Rain, Rain, Rain!!!! I guess we'll appreciate it come the hot summer.

I'm going to work in the house today, do some laundry and plant my seeds for the plants for the garden. One thing about being down here, you can plant your garden at the end of March. I want to start some different types of tomato plants. One is called an Ox heart and the other is Pear tomatoes.. The pears are not new to the area but the other's are. I was introduced to them by a friend of mine in Ohio. They are a heart shaped tomato and a large and very meaty fruit. They're very good and very sweet. Can't wait to be able to get outside and work in the yard.

Royce and I are going to concentrate on the yard this year and make it very nice. We want to do some different flowers and etc. Very excited about this.
Be blessed everyone and be good. Sorry I haven't been on here as often as I normally am..

Happy soon to be February

Well, it's the end of the month and I feel the need to share some things with all of you.
First of all, I lost my dear sister in law, Carol, whom a lot of you have heard me speak endlessly of. I really miss her already. She passed away on Jan. 20th. in the mid afternoon. She had a massive stroke that killed her instantly. Please join with me in pray for those that have suffered this great loss. Her mother is still living and will soon be 88 years old. She has now lost her oldest son, (my late husband Bob)and now her oldest daughter. She has two children left. Doreen and Donnie. doreen soon to be 50 and Donnie around 58 or 59. I'm not sure..Please pray for all of us..

The armoire is in and decorated and we enjoy it every day. It looks so good in here!! Be aware, Royce is looking at grandfather clock plans, so I'm sure he will be tackling yet another project. He's planning it and getting his head wrapped around that..He's always having something cooking in that brain of his..

We are going to attempt to go to Atlanta tomorrow. I need to go visit my grandchidren...I hope they do't get the ice storm they're supposed to get..I haven't seen them in some time. Chelsea is 16 and Adam is 7...

Be blessed my dear friends and anny family that reads this...That's about all the news for now..
Take care!

The armoire is in!

The armoire is in place and decorated! The painting is done and the carpet is installed. Everything is back in place and we are enjoying it! We're so glad to be done! There's more to do in the house, and that will come. We will paint the final room, the utility room and put the ceramic tile in the bathroom and kitchen. R needs some time off for now...He worked really hard..
I've posted the pictures of the armoire and the one corner of the living room where you can see the green wall/ accent wall and the fireplace. It all looks really nice...Enjoy! Ignore the wires on top as they will be hidden when he finishes hooking up the lights on top.

Happy New Year!!!

Well, congrats to my son and daughter in law for the birth of their fourth child. He was 7 # 8 oz. and 20 in. long. His name is Wyatt Edward Coble..I'm soo happy for them. Can't wait to get pictures of him and I will post them. I'm grammy again!

We have the painting done and am waiting for the carpet to come. The armoire is in it's new resting place and once the carpet is down (lots of dust when bringing up the old) I will get it all decorated and fill the shelves. I'm very excited and can't wait to get that done., I have plans on how I want to get it all done. I will take before and after pictures for all of you to view.

Is it cold where your at as it is here? We're experiencing very cold and unusual weather. It's been going down to the low twenties here which is highly unusual here...

Stay warm everyone and be blessed!
